Types and Classification of Hydraulic Pipe Fittings

Welded Pipe Joint: Composed of a joint body, nut, and pipe sleeve. The pipe sleeve is welded to the end of the oil pipe and connected to the joint body through the nut. This type of pipe joint has a firm connection and reliable sealing, with a working pressure up to 31.5MPa, but requires welding during assembly and demands high welding quality.
Ferrule Pipe Joint: Consists of a joint body with a 24° tapered hole, a ferrule with sharp inner edges, and a tightening nut that applies pressure. When the nut is tightened, the ferrule is pushed into the tapered hole and deformed, forming a spherical contact seal between the ferrule and the inner tapered surface of the joint body. Meanwhile, the ferrule's inner edges embed into the outer wall of the oil pipe, providing a reliable seal. Ferrule pipe joints feature simple structure, good performance, light weight, small size, ease of use, and no welding required, with a working pressure up to 63MPa.
Flared Pipe Joint: Available in two structural types, A and B. Type A consists of a pipe joint body with a 74° external taper, a nut that applies pressure, and a pipe sleeve with a 60° internal tapered hole; Type B consists of a joint body with a 90° external taper and a nut with a 90° internal tapered hole. The pipe, which has been flared at the end, is placed between the external taper of the joint body and the internal tapered hole of the pipe sleeve (or Type B nut). Tightening the nut compresses the flared pipe end, pressing it against the gap formed by the joint body's external taper and the pipe sleeve's (or Type B nut's) internal tapered hole, thus achieving a seal. Flared pipe joints have a simple structure, good performance, are easy to process and use, and are suitable for medium and low-pressure pipeline systems using oil or gas as the medium.
Crimped Hose Joint: Mainly composed of a joint outer sleeve and a joint core. The inner wall of the joint outer sleeve has an annular cutting groove, and the outer wall of the joint core is cylindrical with radial cutting grooves. After stripping the outer rubber layer of the hose and fitting it onto the joint core, the joint outer sleeve is tightened and crimped using specialized equipment to form a tight connection. Crimped hose joints are easy to install but add an extra tightening step.
Quick Coupling: A type of joint that allows rapid connection or disconnection of pipelines without the use of tools. Quick couplings come in two structural forms: double-ended shut-off and double-ended open. The double-ended shut-off quick coupling has a check valve core in the cavity of each joint body. When the two joint bodies are separated, the check valve cores are pushed by springs to press tightly against the tapered holes of the joint bodies, closing both ends and preventing medium flow. When the two joint bodies are connected, the valve cores' front push rods collide, forcing the valve cores to retract and compress the springs, opening the passage.
